Hajaras was shot by Israeli fire in his stomach during last Saturday's Great March of Return rally in Gaza, which also commemorated Land Day as well as a year of Gaza border protests against the Israeli blockade on the Strip. The death of Hajaras brings to five the number of fatalities on this year's Land Day, which remembers the killing of six young Palestinians on March 30th 1976, when thousands of Palestinians inside Israel demonstrated against the confiscation by the Israeli government of 21,000 dunams of their land. More than 260 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire since the protests and clashes in the Gaza Strip began a year ago
