Prothonotary Warbler (637. Protonotaria citrea).—Avery pretty warbler, with the whole head, neck, upper back, and under parts a rich orange. The rest of the upper parts gradu- ally change through greenish to bluish to ashy, and the lower parts to almost white on the crissum, and large white blotches on the under tail feath- ers. The female has the yellow paler. It is found most fre- quently in the low growths near and over. Prothonotary Warbler the water, where it is more like a creeper in its habits than like a flycatcher.
