On Thursday, April 26, 2013, a mobilization ceremony was held for Detachment 1, Company B, 2nd Battalion, 149th General Support Aviation Battalion (GSAB), Oklahoma Army National Guard as they prepare for deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring GSAB will deploy to Afghanistan with more than 50 Oklahoma Army National Guard Soldiers. While deployed, they will operate the CH-47 "Chinook" helicopter and provide air movement assets (move people and cargo) in their area of GSAB departed Lexington, Okla., for Fort Hood, Texas, where they will participate in eight to 12 weeks of post-mobilization training before heading to Afghanistan this summer.
