While driving through the Jemez Mountains of New Mexico, we came upon this ground squirrel peeking up out of a hole in the ground. We were on a drive from Albuquerque, New Mexico through the mountains on FR 103. We stopped many times along the way taking pictures of the forest,meadows and wildlife.
