220924-N-MJ716-0292 NAVAL BASE SAN DIEGO (Sept. 24, 2022) Guests of the Naval Base San Diego (NBSD) Centennial Celebration look out from the hangar bay of USS Makin Island (LHD 8) during a ship tour Sept. 24th. NBSD hosted a public event in recognition of the base reaching 100 years of service since its founding on Feb. 23, 1922. The celebration featured ship tours, a car show, concert, and a fair-like atmosphere with food, merchandise and info booths, and rides.
