The show is organised by the Royal Lancashire Agricultural Society (RLAS) and is one of Britain's oldest, first taking place in 1767. From 1954 the show was held at Stanley Park, Blackpool up until 1972, when Blackpool Zoo required the land in the park and the show had to move. RLAS bought land at Ribby Hall, near Kirkham and the show was held there, and more recently other venues in the county. This image is taken from an old negative – a vintage 1950s/60s photograph.
