The Prantz Corporation brought in the second well February 18, in the Mosbyfield near the town of Winnett, Fergus county. At a depth of 1,015 feet the bit cutinto the oil-bearing sands, a second Kootenai formation, and the well is reported to beproducing about 400 barrels of oil every 24 hours. The oil sands are said to be 70feet in thickness. The oil is of a paraffin base, 47 degrees Baume gravity, or about50 per cent in gasoline content and of high commercial value. In May the same com-pany brought in a second well in the same field, but east of the Musselshell river inGarfield county. In August the Decker-Collins Company brought in a well in the S4 MONTANA—1920
