Sculptor Antony Gormley with his 75ft tall creation Wasteman built entirely of recyled rubbish. The giant sculpture included hundreds of discarded chairs, tables, beds, bookcases, toilet seats and other household items was being built on the Dreamland site in Margate Kent next to the scenic railway The sculpture was part of The Margate Exodus project by Arts Charity Artangel which ended with the statue being ceremoniously burnt on 1st October 2006. Gormley also made The Angel of the North.
