One of the most important prize eventsin the college course is the 68 Speakingof the Senior class, occurring some timeduring the latter part of the winter speakers are appointed for excellencein composition, as determined by themeswritten during the Sophomore and Junioryears. The list of speakers is not announceduntil several weeks after the beginningof the winter term, and from the date ofannouncement until the day of the decla-mation, the time seems insufficient for theproduction of the best results. The exhibi-tion of a year ago is evidence of the in-sufficiencj of the time for preparation of apart for the 68 Speaking. There is no rea-son, as themes are all handed in before theopening of Senior year, why the speakersshould not be appointed during the fall term, and then in case of failure a man couldhave the satisfaction of knowing that it wasnot lack of time that occasioned his break-down. It is hoped that the Faculty willconsider this suggestion favorably
