It should be clearly and unmistak-ably understood that in the past some of the largest operators have alsobeen the most careless and wasteful. That condition is now beingremedied, but the task is not yet completed.^ The proportion of water and oil produced by certain concerns in thevarious fields of the state is shown by the accompanying diagram.
