Baltimork City Summer and Evening Schools 115 BALTIMORE CITY SUMMER SCHOOLS In the summer of 1926 Baltimore City had 12 summer schoolsin operation. Pupils in primary grades at the demonstrationschools attended for 6 weeks, while other pupils attended for 8weeks. The sessions lasted 4 hours daily. The teaching staffincluded 12 principals and 103 assistants. There was an increaseof 15 per cent in the enrollment of 1926 over 1925. The 1926enrollment included 5,651 pupils of whom 4,023 were takingreview work, while 1,628 were doing work in advance of thatthey had had during the preceding school year.
