San Antonio, TX July 27, 2006: Texas archaeologists and students from the University of Texas-San Antonio dig for artifacts along the north wall of The Alamo long barracks during six weeks of summer field work. The rare excavation--the first allowed at the historic battleground since 1995--has uncovered remnants of pottery from the mid-1700's and other later artifacts from the 1836 Texas revolution.
