Twelve knives from the table silver, dated 1840, the Tsar's court jeweller, Nichols & Plinke, St. Petersburg Silver. Each bears the engraved monogram "ON" beneath a grand ducal coronet and the crowned Russian double-headed eagle, St. Petersburg hallmarks for "84" zolotniki, an inspection mark for Dmitry Ilich Tverskoi "1840", and the work master's mark "" (Henrik August Long). The steel knife blades are stamped with the mark "N & P". One knife grip is marked "CO" and "84" zolotniki, the blade with the manufacturer's stamp, "Gebr.
