Sant Genis church, Taradell. Romanesque and baroque.


The parish of Sant Genís has its origins in the year 950, though currently there is little left of the original building was demolished and a new church in medieval times, who suffers reforms enshrined in the year 1076 in the fifteenth century was built and XVI. It is looted by French troops in 1654. A century later, in 1755, put the first stone of the present Baroque church. Keeping only the bell tower of the Romanesque building, dating from the eleventh century in Lombard model. Its current bell tower is ground and three floors dating from the eighteenth century and there is a reproduction of the same in the Spanish Village of Barcelona. In the early twentieth century, a fire damaged part of the building, during which paramientos altarpieces and interior were destroyed, especially the floor added. Puig i Cadafalch was commissioned to restore it, adding a watch on each of the faces of the top floor of the belfry.
