J., where he has remainedever since, and where he has met Avith marked success inhis ministerial labors, his church being one of the largestand most flourishing in the Passaic Valley. In the midstof his numerous pastoral duties he finds time for literarywork and is the author of several books, miscellaneouspoems, and prose articles, which have been published in. LYMAN W. His works are: TheCoiniiij; of His Feet and Oilier Ioems,—the much lovedpoem, * The Coniino- of His Feet, having achieved a verywide-spread ])o])nhiritT, and liavinf; been incorporated in anumber of livninals,—and an epic, poem, Abraliam Lin-coln, Tiie Star of Sangamon, the latter having received |!l,()()() prize ottered by the New Yorlc llcrahl in 1895. Thisprize poem lias met with the lugliest commendation fromwell know II writers and critics, and from the religious andsecular ])ress all over the country. Dr. Allen is a Director of the Hoard of Home Missions ofthe Presbyterian Church of New York City, a member andChaplain of the Xew Jersey Society of the Sons of l{e\olution.
