Blue sky view, tropical sea sand beach, palm trees shoreline, Hillsborough Beach to Lauriston Point, Carriacou, West Indies

At 34 square kilometres (13 square miles) and 16 mile long, Carriacou is the largest island of the Grenadines. The climate is tropical and the hilly terrain slopes to white beaches. There are no rivers and local residents rely on rainwater for their water supply. Hillsborough Beach, at carriacou's largest settlement, is one of several beautiful beaches on the island, which is part of Grenada. A view towards Sandy Island and the mangrove swamp at Lauriston Point, between Hillsborough and the beautiful Paradise Beach.
