The Cirkus Building, Circular building with dome & decorative frieze built in 1886 by architect Henrik Vilhelm Brinkopff as venue for circus performances on Axel Torv in Copenhagen, Denmark. The Circus building was severely damaged by fire in 1914 and rebuilt under the direction of the architect Holger Jacobsen. It reopened in 1915. The decorative Frieze by sculptor Frederik Hammeleff with Ancient Roman & Greek Motifs survived the fire. In 1988, it was listed by the Danish Heritage Agency and the last circus performance took place in 1990. The building has since been used for a variety of activities and events, including musicals, ballet, conferences and concerts. Since 2003, the building has been leased by Wallmans, a Swedish entertainment company, who use it for a dinner and entertainment venue
