All the walls, inside as well as outside, are constructed of reinforced concrete. Thecement was carefully poured into formsand moulds, no finish plaster being usedinside or out. A wash of white cement withjust a suggestion of color produced a veryinteresting finish. The ceilings throughoutare insulated against heat and cold andsound absorption. The pitched roofs arecovered with hand-made clay tile and theflat roofs with asbestos material. Thesefeatures, with the concrete walls, make thebuilding practically fireproof. 67 68 Q5^ ARCHITELCTAND ENGINEER. September, 1930 A Page of Pencil Sketches byStanley Johnson Los AngelesCalifornia.
