Staff Sgt. Anthony Bauder, senior drill instructor, Receiving Company, Support Battalion, teaches recruits of Kilo Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, the position of attention at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, June 13. Recruits are initially taught the position of attention as well as that that they will now eat, sleep and train as a team. This is where the transformation begins for each recruit. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Kilo Company is scheduled to graduate Sept. 9.
