ALPHA DELTA PHI ALPHA DELTA PHI was founded at Hamilton College in 1832. It wasthe fourth of the general Greek Letter Societies organized, and the only-one originating at Hamilton. Samuel Eells was the prime mover in its organ-ization. The second chapter of the fraternity was established in 1835. at MiamiUniversity. Oxford. Ohio, under the personal supervision of Mr. Eells, thefounder. The Urban Chapter at the University of the City of New York was foundedon July 28. of the same year, by Daniel Huntington, and one year later theColumbia Chapter at Columbia College, New York, was established. The Yale Chapter followed after the lapse of another year, and was estab-lished by Alpha Delts who had been initiated at the Hamilton Chapter, andhad subsequently become students at Yale. Chapters at the following universities and colleges have been establishedsince that time: Amherst College, Brown University, Hobart College, Michi-gan University.
