Tail race water Dulyn hydro power turbine hall after electricity generation part of Dolgarrog hydro site

Water is fed into Llyn Eigiau lake by a tunnel from a stream below lake LlynDulyn and another larger tunnel also takes water to nearby Llyn Cowlyd. Water passes through an intake grid chamber and onto a turbine generator. The turbine is controlled from a computerised panel and the amount of electricity generated is dependant on the amount and flow of water from the pipe. A tailrace returns the water after it has passed through the turbine to the main stream. The generation of this clean electricity will help prevent an annual release of many tonnes of the main greenhouse gas, carbon dioxide, which is a major contibutor to global warming and climate change.
