In these the tubing is inserted but a short distance into the end piece and is glued inplace. With a little handling they become loosened and the end piece may drop off any 5 is a common but not always satisfactory connection, consisting of a wood tailpiece gluedinto the tubing and rubber end. The gas passage is unduly restricted. Compare these sampleswith No. 9, in which a metal tailpiece is screwed into end of tube and is held in rubber end pieceby corrugations which fit corresponding corrugations in the rubber.
