High Stile from Wharnscale Beck in Buttermere, Lake District

Finally the curse of the Jet Stream had been lifted! With a solid forecast I drove to Buttermere to make the most of the good weather. After walking up Fleetwith Edge and down through Dubs Quarry I came to cross this beck. I noticed how it flowed towards the very prominent lump of High Crag and thought that it made for an interesting composition. The light was coming into the lens at quite a shallow angle so I had to suffer wet feet, to be able to shield the lens to stop flare. I particularly like the brown-orange colour of the rocks that make up the stream bed. Haystacks is just creeping in from the left.
