From 1890 a greatinterest came to be taken in the matter of inlandfisheries, and large amounts of money were ex-pended in stocking the waters of the state withthe kinds of fish best adapted to the legal protection was thrown around themillions of young fish placed in the streams andlakes, and the benefits to the people became very apparent by 1895, when almost every portion ofthe state had fish in abundance.
