The roots are almost globular in shape, about 2 inches long and deep through, of reddish-orange color and exceOent flavor. Equally good for forcing under glass and for early or late sowing outdoors. Pkt., 10 cts.; oz., 20 cts.; \ lb., 50 cts.; lb., Chantenay Half-Long. (See illustration.) Largely grown for market as weO as home use. It is stump- rooted and sUghtly tapered towards the bottom and the skin is very smooth, orange-red in color, causing it to be of very attractive appearance. The quality is most excellent, being very crisp, tender and of an extra fine flavor. Roots, when ready, average about 5 or 6 inches long. But they may be used while yet quite small, thus furnishing a continuous supply.
