SPRING CATALOG OF SEEDS, BULBS AND PLANTS FOR 1923 53. RUBY GOLD This is without doubt the most beautiful Tomato grown and will attract attention anywhere for its great size and wonderful color. The skin is a rich ruby red, suf- fused and mottled with purest gold, making a striking color combination. The inside is a rich canary yellow, beautiful- ly marked and stained with deep ruby red. This ruby color usually takes the form of a ring or crescent near the cen- ter and makes a slice won- derfully attractive. The illus- tration at the left shows the inside of a Ruby Gold with its thick meat, few seeds and peculiar color markings. The fruit is very large, smooth and of the richest flavor with- out trace of acid. Flesh is also the most tender, juicy and melting of any Tomato we know. For the home garden Ruby Gold is most desirable in every way. It produces very few seeds. Stock limited. Seed, per pkt., -3c; 3 ykts. for COc NEW TOMATO, EARLIEST PRODUCER No tomato that we have tested in recent years has excelled this in all desirable qualities. It is wonderfully productive and the fruits are of me- dium size, very uniform, smooth and perfect. The flavor is excellent and the flesh is solid and juicy. It is short jointed, producing only short vines, which are very stout, and the foliage is luxuriant and handsome. Very desirable for the small home garden as the plant takes little room in proportion to the great quantity of fruit borne. For quality it is in the first rank. As a main crop tomato it has no superior.
