In such cases the plate must be cut away from thefront of the ridge as far as the first or second bicuspid, and theteeth frround with great accuracy to fit the gum itself. Singleplain teeth will usually be best adapted to such cases; but anexcellent effect can sometimes be produced by grinding a block,when the shade of gum is well matched, to fit directly upon thenatural gum. It has been also recommended to cover the anterior margin ofthe plate and interspaces between the teeth with a terra-metallicpaste, fusible at a very low temperature
