'Lawn-Tennis Costume', 1879. Two of Punch's favourite targets were the world of women's fashions, and women taking part in sporting activities. Here, the journal manages to score two hits in one cartoon with the lady, very gamely prepared to play, but dressed in all the trappings of the lawn tennis game.
