N. esakii can easily be recognized bycoloration (see key), the males by the peculiarshaped midventral appendage of sternite 8 (, 16), and the females by the very short ovipo-sitor (fig. 13). The extension of the male tergite9 possesses a few spines only (fig. 15) and thecrest of the inner dististyle is narrow (fig. 14).
