Darjeeling, India. 05th Jan, 2016. Lava is a small town 34 km east from Kalimpong, in Darjeeling district. Lava situated in 7016 feet (2138 m), it is the entry point Neora Valley National Park. The route to Lava is scenic with the change in vegetation from tropical deciduous to the wet alpine trees of fir, pine and birch. A Buddhist monastery is present on one of the hills of Lava.
