Constructed for the 1889 World's Fair, the 324 metres (1,063 ft) Eiffel Tower has become a cultural icon of Paris, France and the world. This wrought iron lattice tower, located on the Champ de Mars in Paris, is named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower. I always think of it as a massively over-sized electricity pylon, but without the high but that's no bad thing, as I have always loved the abstract beauty and form of pylons. This started off as an image of yet another images of the iconic tower. But then I got adventurous and turned it into something more colorful and abstract, using a combination of Photoshop techniques including multi-layer blending, transformations and gradient mapping. I hope you like it!
