Thian Hock Keng Taoist Temple is the oldest Hokkien temple in Singapore. This statue is of QiYe or General fan who is one of the great generals (Da Er Ye Bai). Also called Fan Wu Jiu or Dee Ya Pek or Hei Wu Chang. He always carries a tablet with the words arrest the evil on it.
