Apollo and Artemis offering a libation over the Delphi Omphalos. The original marble Omphalos was found in the area to the northeast of the Temple of Apollo. According to Greek mythology the omphalos marked the centre of the earth, the 'World's Navel', the point where the two eagles released by Zeus from opposite ends of the world eventually met.
