ADMINISTRATION OF This depicts two points of time. First; the candidate isseen kneeling down and praying near the bath of water ; anda hand issues from a cloud above him, to denote the acquies-cence of heaven in his petitions. Second ; Baptism is ad-ministered by POURING WATER out of a vase on persons whoare kneeling on the ground, and not immersed at all. Eitherthen, Baptism was administered without immersion, hypouringonly ; notwithstanding the convenience of the bath ; or thosepersons had previously been immersed, and afterwards re-ceived Baptism, as a distinct, subsequent, and separate of these facts, and one of them must be the truth, cutsup the Baptist system by the roots. 197 IX.
