'All-Purpose Living Room', 1942. Artist: Unknown.

'All-Purpose Living Room', 1942. One of a series of exhibition rooms designed by William Pahlmann for Lord & Taylor of New York, USA, planned to build-up around a central painting specially commissioned for the job. Several outstanding American artists co-operated with Pahlmann in creating paintings to harmonise with the decor. George Schreiber's 'Dress Rehearsal' can be seen here.
