Huntingdon Huntingdonshire Currently the oldest surviving house in Houghton, the former George and Dragon Inn stands on the northern side of the Green. Originally a yeoman farmer's house built around the end of the fifteenth century, it later became the George and Dragon Inn. It is now a private house and still shows off its original external wooden beams, albeit slightly out of the vertical. Originally, the building consisted of a central hall, open to the roof since central heating comprised a hearth on the floor.
