Military Merit Cross - a 1st model decoration, circa 1850, cased, Cross with one side fashioned in silver, the obverse with translucent red-orange coloured enamel typical for the first model. The base layer hand chiselled, smooth reverse without the customary white enamel in use later. On its original stitched ribbon for wear and situated in a gold-imprinted brown leather award case (vaulted cover) with designation "Militär Verdienstkreuz". Width 30 mm.
