Hester, eldest son of Martin and Mary (Stough)Hester, was born November 8, 1810, in Columbiana county, A. He had agreat taste for reading, which was well improved through learned the carpenter and joiner trade, at which he wasvery skillful. A. D. 1842, he married and settled on a farm in Norwichtownship, Huron county, O., wdiere he lived sixty years,and reared his family. His home was a welcome stoppingplace for the itinerant minister and fellow Christians. HESTER FAMILY. 71 When twenty-five years of age he was converted andjoined the Methodist Church, of which he remained a faithful,very useful and official member till his death, February 17,1901, aged 90. He was buried in the Norwich cemetery anda nice monument marks his grave.
