I.—SIR LAURENCE LE GRANT, Sheriff of as a witness, along with Robert le Grant, in an agreement between Archibald Bishopof Moray and Sir John Byset, 20th September 1258. Laurence le Graunt, as Sheriffof Inverness, rendered accounts to Exchequer in 1263 and 1266, and in the latter yearalso as Bailie of Inverchoich. Of the date of the first of these accounts a questionarose as to whether he or the Earl of Buchan is responsible for the feu of Invery. Robert le Grant appears as a witness alongwith Laurence in the agreement dated 20thSeptember 1258. In or about the sameyear he received a charter from John Pratof the lands of Clonmanache.
