This is a colour enhanced scanning electron micrograph of the bacteria Campylobacter jejuni, a leading source of bacterial diarrhoea in Great Britain and the United States, being three times more common than Salmonella. It is frequently found in raw chicken meat. Contaminated water, infected pets, and unpasteurized milk also are the sources of this food borne pathogen.
