Not far from Arsoli is the little hill town of Sambucito which even to this day no carriage road has ever beenbuilt. We courageously made the ascent the otherday on donkey-back to see the strange old square-towered castle, that for many years belonged to theBenedictines and the Abbot of Subiaco.
