K2-288Bb exoplanet and parent star, illustration. This planet (right) is slightly smaller than Neptune. It orbits the fainter member of a pair of cool M-type stars (both at left) every days. This planetary system is located about 226 light years from Earth, in the constellation of Taurus. This planet is one of many discovered by NASA's Kepler space observatory, which was launched in 2009. This image was published in 2019.
