view of market square and St Christopher cathedral Roermond Limburg Netherlands

St Christopher’s Cathedral is a gothic church which dates back to the 15th century. It was heavily damaged during World War II, and although some restoration work has been done, there is still some damage. Some of the original stained glass windows were destroyed and have been replaced by new ones which were donated by local companies. St Christopher’s Cathedral is just one example of the fine architecture in Roermond, a town which has been designated a conservation area because of the sheer amount of historical buildings.
