This business was established in 1870, and oc-cupies large and commodious quarters, 150 x 150 ft. in dimensions, and gives em-ployment to about 25 workmen. They manufacture large quantities of lime, anddeal in hair, cement, and plaster. The trade is large and is constantly increasing,extending throughout the District and Maryland and Virginia. The presentcapacity of the works is about sixty thousand barrels per year. Both gentlemencomprising the firm, are natives of Virginia. Mr. Cammack coming to the Districtwhile quite young, was here educated, Avhile Mr. Decker received his educationin Virginia. Their present location has been used a great many years in the man-ufacture of lime, but never with the success that now attends the above MARINIS DANCING ACADEMY, Prof. L. G. Marini, Proprietor, 914 E st. N. W. The dancing academy of Prof. L. , at 914 E street, between Eighthand Ninth, is one of the special featuresof Washington city. The first lodge of the WashingtonKnights of Pythias was organized in thisbuilding in 1863, and that crack militaryorganization, the National Rifles, occu-pied the basement floor of the buildingbefore moving into their handsome armoryon F street. The building was entirelyreconstructed in its exterior arrangementby Prof. Marini in 1875, with the furtherimprovement of a new front in the first floor, divided by a spacioushall, are two neatly fitted up dressingand reception rooms for ladies and gen- tlemen.
