The ferruginous partridge is a species of bird in the family Phasianidae. It belongs to the monotypical genus Caloperdix. It is found in Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Thailand. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forest and subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest. It is quite rare in Thailand and is a shy, nervous bird
