There is also a subdorsal and substigniatal row of similar TIG. L. Disippus: a, mature larva; c, hibernaculum; d, leaf eaten all but midrib. warts, from each of which springs a pale bristle. The second period scarcely differs from the first. In the third period the horns acquire their mature proportions, and the whole surface of the larva becomes more granu- lated. In the fourth or last period the blue points appear, and the lateral rows of tubercles lose their con- spicuousness to a great extent. The mature larva is inches long; general color either whitish or olive-green.
