Higgar Tor in the Peak District National Park, Derbyshire,UK
Higger Tor is a gritstone outcrop in the Peak District National Park,close to Sheffield. It is a superb vantage point and is a popular spot for visitors of all ages. Small children and outdoor groups crawl amongst the rocks, a sort of potholing above ground known locally as weaseling, and rock climbers climb the steep just enjoy the views. Carl Wark is thought to be an Iron Age fort and there is evidence of old field patterns on the slopes below.
