It is expected here that New Year's business will be good, as society reports many approaching functions and orders for cut flowers and decorations have been already booked ahead. Various Notes. The downtown florists talk of noth- ing but the great volume of business done. Grimm & Gorly, Mullanphy Flo- rists, Riessen Floral Co., George Berner, the Foster Floral Co. and the floral de- partments at Vandervoort's and Famous- Barr say everything sold well and the demand for plants and cut stock was away beyond their expectations. C. Young & Sons Co. made a grand display of blooming plants and reports satisfactory business in all lines. Ostertag Bros, never had a better Christmas and report many advance or- ders for New Year's. In the west end the leaders all em- ployed extra help and their business was the best ever experienced. Some re- markable displays in the windows of Fred C. Weber,' Joseph Witek, F. H. Weber and the Sanders Nursery Co. at- tracted considerable attention. George Waldbart Floral Co., Ayres Floral Co., M. S. Newman and Koenig Floral Co., centered at Grand avenue and Olive street, say a better Christmas could not have been wished for. Their stores were filled with the choicest of stock in plants and cut flowers. Reports from the north and south ends of the city were that it had been the best Christmas ever. The most noted displays of Christmas stock were at the establishments of the Bergster- mann Floral Co., Windier's Flowers, Schoenle Floral Co., Charles Beyer, Mrs. Bruenig, W. H. Kruse and the Blossom Shop.
