Kailash through prayer flags, Tibet
Mount Kailash is the holiest mountain in the world, each year attracting thousands of pilgrims from around the world. Considered the Axis Mundi by the Tibetan Buddhists, Hindus, Bon Po and Jains, it is claimed that one circuit of the mountain absolves the sins of a lifetime. 108 circuits, however, is said to bring one to enlightenment. Located in the far west of Tibet, this is one of the most dramatic and spectacular travel destinations in Asia, if not the world.
