The ovarian fimbria runsupwards towards the ovary—not downwards to the ovary, asusually represented. This relation of the tube to the ovaryaccounts for the singular shape of a dropsical tube, which curvesoutside and a little below the ovary, and also for the positionof the foetal sac in cases of gestation in the outer part of theFallopian tube, the sac lying not above the ovary, but outside, and often partly below it. As the uterus always leans a little to one side, the ovaryon that side hangs downwards more than its fellow, which isheld almost horizontally between the ovarian and the infundi-bulo-pelvic ligaments. The ovary is connected with the back of the broad ligamentby its dense and tough hilum, which is invested by a plexus of Uterus Fallopian Tube. Uterine Vein Ureter -Vaginal Art. This ligament is an important landmark when the surgeonis engaged in exploring the appendages during an operation ; itis much stretched in cystic disease of the ovary, and generallyhypertrophied in fibroid disease of the uterus.
